Alexander Litvinenko

Alexander Litvinenko was a Russian defector who managed to escape from the Federal Security Service. Back in 1998, he and many other FSB officers publicly accused their superiors of ordering the hit on a prominent Russian Mafia leader.

Right after that, he flew to London, where he lived with his family in exile. But in 2006, after publicly denouncing Vladimir Putin as the main culprit behind the passing of important Russian journalists, he suddenly fell ill with a sickness caused by radioactive polonium-210.

The majority of theories would point to someone in the Russian government as his assassin, but some would even say that the British government was involved in his demise.
