CHARLES SCHWERTNER
There’s a 2023 arrest affidavit obtained by the Austin American-Statesman that says that they forcefully stopped a 2022 Cadillac observed to have been “swerving to the right and left and splitting the two lanes multiple times”.
The driver was Senator Charles Schwertner, who was obviously drunk, according to the reports. The Texas senator got arrested, booked, and later released on bail. However, it was later reported that the charges were mysteriously dropped, as prosecutors explained they didn’t have enough evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Moreover, Schwertner agreed to a period of counseling and monitoring.
