Joe Biden rocked the political world as he dropped out of the presidential race. He doesn’t have the right to choose his replacement. That is why, Kamala Harris, the current Vice President of The United States remains a simple possible candidate.

Kamala Harris cannot be directly chosen and put into the race, even though she is Biden’s favorite. Some procedures need to be followed. Also, until now, Kamalas hasn’t declared anything yet, so everything the press is doing, right now, is just speculation. Let’s be, as realistic as we possibly can, and have a look at every politician that might replace Joe Biden in the presidential race.

Even though all eyes are on Kamala Harris, there are also other politicians we should consider. What if Kamala Harris cannot beat Donald Trump?

Who could replace Joe Biden? Here Are 13 Politicians Who Might Get Into the Race:

1. Vice President Kamala Harris

Harris, 59, for many Americans seems the right choice for the elections that are going to take place. She is the first female vice president and the first vice president of color. The Democratic Party can’t deny the power that Kamala Harris holds right now. So, naturally, she is the most powerful nominee at the moment.

She is honored to be supported by Joe Biden and claims she’ll do everything to defeat Donald Trump. In the coming weeks, she plans to travel the country and unite the nation against Trump.

2. Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia

Democratic politicians are reaching out to Manchin, pushing him to consider standing for the presidential nomination. Recently a democratic party member claimed that Manchin is considering entering the race.

However, in an interview, Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia said “I am not going to be a candidate for president”, but also claimed that he is very interested to find out who will compete with Donald Trump.

It’s important to mention that Manchin, who is 76, has been a Democratic Party member for a long time, but he became an independent in May.

3. Gov. Gavin Newsom of California

Newsome, 56, has positioned himself multiple times as the Democratic Party’s liberal higher. He has a huge power since he is the governor of the most populous state. A lot of Americans would support him if he decided to enter the race.

On Sunday, after Biden announced that he dropped out of the presidential race, Newsom made a post and praised Joe Biden’s leadership. He even called Biden a “history-making president”.

Later on that day, Newsom posted a statement supporting Kamala Harris. He claimed that there is no better option than our Vice President to beat Donald Trump in 2024. “Tough. Fearless. Tenacious.” are the words Newsom used to describe Kamala Harris.

4. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan

Gretchen Whitmer has become a leading voice inside the Party, which is why her nomination couldn’t be a surprise. She is a very popular governor in the United States and let’s not forget that she won reelection by double digits in 2022.

Whitmer strongly fought for abortion rights and encouraged Mr. Biden to make more efforts for the issue this year.

5. Gov. J.B. Pritzker of Illinois

J.B. Pritzker, 59, has been a governor since 2019. His voice is very strong, especially when it comes to issues like gun control or reproductive rights. If he’ll decide to join the race, he’ll, for sure, be supported by a significant number of Americans.

We have to admit that in politics, having money is crucial. J.B. Pritzker is a billionaire scion of the family that owns a very popular hotel chain: Hyatt.

Basically, he has the power to self-fund a campaign at the last minute, so we’d better not underestimate him. However, he also offered his endorsement of Harris after Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

6. Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky

Besher, 46, is a Democrat in a Red State, and he, also, came out in support of Harris. He told MSNBC: ” The Vice President is smart and strong, which will make her a good president.”

He is the son of former Gov. Steve Beshear and is a political figure with a lot of experience. All his life was about politics. His opinion should always be considered when it comes to elections.

7. Gov. Wees Moore of Maryland

Wes Moore is 45 years old, which makes him the youngest Democratic governor and the only black governor. Many experts see Moore as a rising star in politics.

More says President Biden chose Kamala Harris because he knew she was capable of doing an amazing job as The Vice President of The United States. “Vice President Harris has the experience, record, vision, and wisdom to unify the country,” said Moore in a recent statement, after he found out about Joe Biden’s decision to quit.

Wees Moore was the one who claimed multiple times that Joe Biden shouldn’t drop out of the race. He was the President’s supporter since there was nothing left to be done.

8. Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota

Klobuchar ran against Biden and Harris in the 2020 primaries and is a strong political figure in the United States. Even though a lot of Americans expected her to be a candidate for that 2024 race, Amy Klobuchar, 64, chose to stay away and claimed that she was endorsing Harris for 2024.  She called Harris an incredibly strong leader who can defeat Donald Trump easily.

9. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg

Pete Buttigieg was running for president in 2020, but the results he obtained weren’t that good. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if he chose to try again this year.

After Biden’s announcement, he called Harris the right person to “take up the torch”. Also, he said that he’ll do everything that he can to help Kamala Harris be elected against Donald Trump.

10. Gov. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania

Josh Shapiro gained attention after he had amazing results as a far-right opponent in the state’s 2022 governor’s race.

On Sunday, he also posted a statement supporting Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race. He wrote: “Kamala Harris is a patriot worthy of our support and she will continue the work of generations of Americans who came before us to protect our union, protect our democracy, and advance real freedom.”

11. Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia

Raphael Warnock won 2 close races in the Peach State, cementing the Democratic majority in the Senate. His achievement allows him to be a great opponent if he decides to invest in the race and join it. Can he beat Donald Trump? Probably not, but he’ll, for sure, be a strong candidate.

12. Gov. Jared Polis of Colorado

Jared Polis is one of the nation’s most popular governors. He has served as a governor since 2019 and is really loved by people. He is 49 years old and he represented the state’s 2nd District in Congress for a decade and also served on the Colorado Board of Education.

13. Gov. Roy Cooper of North Carolina

Roy Cooper has been North Carolina’s governor since 2017, and right now he is serving his second term.

Cooper, 67, is a strong American political figure, considering that he practiced law for nearly two decades. He has a sharp mind and could be a fearless candidate for the 2024 elections. The former chairman of The Democratic National Committee told CNN that Roy Cooper and Kamala Harris would be the perfect pair to help Democrats win the Tar Heel state in November.

Harris vs. Trump
