Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore

After se*ual misconduct allegations surfaced against Republican Roy Moore, he completely lost his bid to represent reliably conservative Alabama in the United States Senate in a special election in 2017.

At the time, Moore was a former chief justice of the state Supreme Court, and he received multiple accusations from women of se*ual assault or misconduct. As these women stated, the assaults took place when they were still teenagers, while Moore was in his early 30s.

He completely denied those accusations. If you didn’t know this, the federal law criminalizes se*ual assault, sets a maximum sentence of twenty years in prison or mandatory life imprisonment for repeated offenses against minors, and also provides for fines.

Former U.S. Representative John Conyers

Michigan Democrat John Conyers stepped down in December 2017 after several accusations of se*ual misconduct. This kind of accusation deeply affected his image, as he was the longest-serving member of the United States House of Representatives.

At the time, the House Ethics Committee decided to open an investigation into the allegations of many former female aides. They accused him of inappropriate touching, stating that he came to a meeting only in his underwear.

As you can imagine, John Conyers denied these allegations. Allegedly, Conyers touched and stroked the legs of these women on many different occasions.
