Worst 5 Lies Trump Said in 2024

Here’s a List with Lies Trump Said This Year!

When a politician gives all sorts of rally speeches lasting almost two hours, it’s quite hard to decide what really challenges these statements from a factual point of view. For instance, for Donald Trump, it’s even more difficult, as he constantly says so many things that are false or simply misleading.

For instance, the last time Trump spoke in Georgia for 1 hour and 55 minutes, he basically devoted a lot of time to inaccurate accounts of the legal cases against him. He also made almost a dozen references to President Biden, but they consisted mostly of epithets like “incompetent,”  “crooked,”  “out of control,”  and “weak, angry, flailing.”

Trump also continuously labeled Biden as “corrupt,”  even if he applied the same charge to MSNBC, the 2020 elections, the judge in a libel case Trump lost, and also the judge in a business fraud case that he also lost, the prosecutor in an ongoing Georgia case, New York State, and ultimately the entire United States.

He even went on to declare how much of a corrupt country we have, touching on the allegations that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help him win, but also on his first impeachment over blocking aid to Ukraine, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and firing the FBI chief James B. Comey.

In addition to all that, we also have to mention the unproven allegations that Pfizer forged informed consent signatures for various clinical trials of the coronavirus vaccine.

Moreover, Trump constantly recycles the same old false claims of achievement from when he was president that have been repeatedly proven as false, such as:

  • creating the greatest United States economy in our entire history (by whose metrics?)
  • he passed the biggest tax cut in history (in reality, it ranked 8th).
  • he did more for black people than any president but Abraham Lincoln.
  • He defeated ISIS in four weeks (it took the U.S. and coalition partners more than two years after he took office).
  • He was the first president to impose tariffs on China (China has faced U.S. tariffs since George Washington first enacted them back in 1789).
  • He increased government revenue even if he cut taxes (not true).
  • Rather than just repeating ourselves, we will focus on new false claims that he made in the most recent months. Many of them are from his latest speech in Georgia, but others came up in other speeches held in a town hall and in an interview. Any of these would be worthy of a minimum of three or four pinocchios, but we don’t want to award pinocchios when we do rapid roundups.

He declared Biden “incompetent” to stand trial in the document case.

“He (Biden) is in great jeopardy, but they said, ‘Look, he’s incompetent to go to court, but he can be president.’ Figure that. In other words, he can’t represent himself in court because he’s incompetent.” He made this statement at the Fox News town hall on February 20th.

Trump is the one facing a criminal trial for hoarding classified documents after he’s the one who left the office and refused to return them. On top of that, Biden discovered that he kept classified documents at his home and office.

He also returned them, but a very special counsel was appointed to check if he, too, was bound to face any criminal charges. The special counsel, Robert K. Hur, said that it would be quite tough to win this case, especially since Biden had reasonable defenses. Even if the facts were a bit murky here and there, Biden, unlike Trump, decided to fully cooperate with the investigation. In another controversial passage, he wrote that the jurors probably would see Biden as a “well-meaning, elderly man with bad memory.”

The United States is a Third World country.

The United States is quite an economic powerhouse, and its currency, the U.S. dollar, dominates the market. However, Trump constantly tries to reach for a dated Cold War-era term to pinpoint a certain reference to poor or developing countries.

At times, for some reason, he even calls our country a “banana republic.” But in all honesty, “Third World” is an all-purpose phrase meant to falsely claim that the 2020 election was rigged by Democrats and also to claim that Biden is directly directing federal, state, and local prosecutions of Trump.

Of course, not to mention the civil defamation lawsuit that he recently lost. There is virtually no evidence that Biden is involved in any of these cases. Prisons are being emptied around the world to flood U.S. borders. In fact, it’s quite silly to claim the U.S. is a Third World country.

Prisons are being emptied around the world to flood U.S. borders.

This claim is nothing but an echo of Trump’s well-known comment in his 2015 speech when he announced he decided to run for president. That’s when he stated that Mexico was “sending people with many issues, and they’re bringing those problems here.” Illegal immigration by Mexicans has fallen significantly, so now he has regrouped, stating that the entire world is sending criminals to the southern borders.

Sometimes he even riffs that it’s basically a cost-saving maneuver made by world leaders. But it’s not true, and for someone who came into the limelight in the late ’70s and early ’80s, Trump seems to be channeling Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s 1980 Mariel boatlift. Around 125,000 Cubans were allowed to flee to the United States in 1,700 boats. There was also a huge backlash when they discovered hundreds of refugees who had been released from jails and mental health facilities.

15 million migrants entered the United States under Biden.

Let’s be honest: Trump never met a number that he couldn’t double, triple, or even quadruple. In this situation, he took a real number—4 million to 5 million migrants that arrived during Biden’s presidency—and increased it three times.

Then he offered a prediction to make it sound even bigger. But here’s the truth: Customs and Borders Protection managed to record around 8.5 million “encounters” between February 2021, right after Biden took office and December last year. However, this doesn’t mean all those people entered the country through illegal means.

CBP released over 2.3 million migrants into the United States at the southern border under the Biden administration through September, as the Department of Homeland Security stated. These numbers don’t include “getaways,”  which usually happen when cameras or sensors detect migrants crossing the border but no one is actually found.

That figure might add an additional 2 million, bringing the total number of migrants that arrived during Biden’s presidency to somewhere between 4 and 5 million.

The inflation rate under Biden is 50 percent.

Well, the monthly inflation headlines often refer to the year-over-year inflation rate, as measured by the changes in the consumer price index. It also reached a high of 9 percent during Biden’s presidency, mainly because of supply chain issues that surfaced after the pandemic.

Annualized inflation has dropped since then. The figure in February was 3.2 percent. Cumulative inflation also measures the total increase in the price of goods and services over a specific amount of time.

But naturally, Trump almost triples these numbers. And since he took office, Biden’s cumulative inflation has been 18.5 percent. More than that, Trump was totally wrong when he said there wasn’t any inflation while he was president. He wished! Cumulative inflation during Trump’s presidency nearly reached 8 percent.
