“Let’s take our country back”
Now don’t expect GOP candidates to explain how or why they will win these six key states before or during the primary season. When the “electibility factor” is brought up, it’s typically about winning in general. And the people who vote in Republican primaries can expect to hear variations of “Let’s take our country back” and “Fighting to save America”.
Unfortunately, slogans about uniting America are no longer relevant or successful since “uniting” equals compromise, which, in the opinion of many Americans, means surrender.
It’s important to note that Trump won the six states and the presidency in 2016. However, in 2020, he lost five of them. According to experts, reversing his losses requires new policies and a broader appeal from a nominee who is popular among independents, in addition to a diverse and young electorate willing to vote for a new White House occupant.
We all probably agree that this type of candidate doesn’t exist.
