A difficult topic to discuss for a former intelligence official
As mentioned before, David Grusch, the main witness, alleged that the Pentagon recovered crashed vehicles and biological remains that were believed to be of “non-human” origin. He stated that he was informed during his official duties of a multi-decade unidentified anomalous phenomena crash retrieval and reverse engineering program to which he had absolutely no access.
He added that his testimony is based on information received by various individuals with a longstanding track record of legitimacy and service to America and that many of them possessed all kinds of evidence in the form of photography, official documentation, and classified oral testimony.
There were two other witnesses at the hearing, both former members of the Navy, who testified they also had personal experience with UFOs while on duty. They even mentioned a 2004 incident caught on video. UFOs and UPAs are oftentimes defined as objects that can be detected but cannot be immediately explained.
Most of them end up having innocent explanations, as they turn out to be either weather balloons, drones, or even small aircraft, while others simply remain shrouded in a lot of mystery. The whole purpose of extraterrestrial life has received a lot of hype in recent years.
In fact, according to a Gallup poll from 2019, 68% of Americans think the U.S. government knows plenty of things about UFOs, much more than they are willing to share with the public. In the meantime, 33% of polled U.S. adults think that some of the UFO sightings might have been extraterrestrial spacecraft visiting our planet.
“People are totally ready or at least excited about the possibilities of alien contact, and I think that now more than ever,” Jacob Hagg Misra, an astrobiologist at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, told the Atlantic.
In the last couple of years, Congress held two other hearings on UFOs after a 60-year hiatus from the matter. The last proceedings took place in 1966, when then-Congressman Gerald Ford agreed to a pair of hearings focused on UFO sightings in southern Michigan and other parts of the country.
However, there wasn’t any hearing to fully reveal definitive evidence of life in the universe. Grusch mentioned that he hasn’t witnessed any UFOs. Moreover, he completely refused to give specifics on some of the details of his own claims, especially citing security concerns. However, he agreed to be more forthcoming behind closed doors.
