David Crockett
David Crockett was a well-known frontiersman, politician, but also folk hero. He bravely served in the United States House of Representatives from Tennessee. However, his bravery didn’t help him avoid financial problems, and that’s why he decided to file for bankruptcy in 1830, after registering huge financial losses from a land speculation venture.
Even if he dealt with financial issues, he still served in public office and became an icon of American folklore and legend.
