To destroy or not to destroy? That is the question. Before Thomas Jefferson and John Adams had their own time in the Oval Office, they were really good pals while they were both spending some time in England.

They wanted to know the country better, so they went together on a tour, finding out everything about history. However, as thirsty for history as they seemed to be, they weren’t exactly the most well-behaved people there.

Jefferson and Adams visited the beautiful and historic home of William Shakespeare, where some of the writer’s property was still on display. Both wanted a souvenir from Bard’s home, so they chipped off a piece of a chair, which means that they vandalized the things that belonged to one of the most important men in England.
