Another thing Donald Trump promised to do immediately after taking office is to fire the seasoned prosecutor overseeing two criminal investigations against him. The president-elect has been indicted by Special Counsel Jack Smith on charges of allegedly attempting to overturn the 2020 election and mishandling classified documents.
The American politician denied any wrongdoing and has managed to delay both cases from going to trial before the 2024 election. He continued to claim that he was the victim of a “political witch hunt” led by Smith.
Moreover, he was convicted in New York for falsifying business records, marking him as the only American president to seek reelection while carrying a criminal conviction.
