4. No abortion ban
Another thing Donald Trump promised to do was to not sign into law a national abortion ban. He stated this during the presidential debate with Kamala Harris.
During Trump’s first term, the Supreme Court, with a conservative majority, repealed the national constitutional right to abortion in 2022. In response, Ms. Harris made reproductive rights a central campaign issue, leading to numerous states passing legislation on election day to uphold or expand access to abortion.
While Mr. Trump has often stated that abortion laws should be decided by individual states, he has struggled to present a consistent message on the issue, and we’re eager to see what happens once he takes the Oval Office.
