On top of that, she was also in charge of the Reach Higher Initiative, a well-known program that informed children about employment options and encouraged them to pursue higher education. Her effort aimed to empower young American citizens to shape their futures. It was meant to help students understand better academic planning and all learning opportunities.

After a successful career as the first lady of the USA for two terms, Michelle Obama didn’t want to stop there. She wrote a memoir that was very well received in the literary community.
Only in its first year did the book “Becoming” sell 10 million copies. She talked about her days as the US First Lady but also her time growing up in Chicago, among many other things. The book gives the reader a glimpse into her life and how it shaped the woman she is today.

As a Black person, who is the descendent of slaves, endured segregation, are the targets of inequality and have been made America’s permanent second class citizens with no reparation or act to right this very deep and pervasive wound, she only said her truth. And transparency and truth is how they governed this country for 8 years and this country has been in turmoil ever since they left.

Since reading .Becoming, I have been a big fan of Michelle Obama. She is a model of self motivation and overcoming problems put in her path, I truly admire her.
During Obama’s presidency, there were huge betrayals that brought America down, and they were suspiciously never brought up.

Equity in the eyes of the law, in pay, and in the living conditions of all its citizens is not complete and getting worse. Child poverty is shameful. Voter rights restrictions are illegal. These are our issues. And if we want to be the greatest country, we need to face our demons.

A strong empathetic speaker, who not only can craft an intelligent speech but deliver it to reach the heart and minds of the men and women of America … regardless of race or color.
