Is the Project 2025 connected to the Trump campaign?
The honest answer would be both a yes and a no. As mentioned before, the project is a collaboration of dozens of conservative organizations, and it is overseen by the Heritage Foundation, a right-wing think tank. According to Trump himself and his team, the group is fully independent of his campaign.
He even stated in early July that he doesn’t know anything about “Project 2025”. Now, if we know something about it, there are zero chances for him not to know anything.
In reality, a wide number of Trump’s closest policy advisors and others in high-ranking positions in his administration are very involved in this project.
Let’s take the former administration official Russ Vought: he played a huge role in Project 2025. Now, he serves as the policy director of the Republican National Convention’s platform committee, an appointment the campaign signed off on.
